The top part of the dress is like wearable art - it’s a unique patchwork of beautiful African print fabrics.
The skirt of the dress has pockets, and is made from a super soft cotton.
It has a flattering cut with an elasticated waist, and a midi length gathered skirt.

Dress is up with heels, or wear it casually with sneakers.

This dress is measured flat. I recommend to flat measure a dress you already have and compare sizes and length.

Size: Loose fit S / US 6-8 / UK 10-12 / EU 38-40 / AUS 10-12

* Length (shoulder top to hem): 46.5" / 118cm .
* Across bust (from armhole to armhole): 18.5" / 47cm (Double this for full circumference).
* Across waist: 14" stretches to 16" / 36cm stretches to 41cm (double this for full circumference).
* Gathered skirt: plenty of room across hips.

Model height in photographs is 5 feet 8.5 inches (1.74 mtrs).

About the making process:

- It starts with an enormous mess on my studio floor - hundreds of small fabric remnants that I’ve kept over the years come out of boxes and bags, then I pick out pieces that catch my eye and lay them out on my cutting table.
- I then cut those remnants into even smaller pieces, straightening the sides so that I can sew them together.
- Then I french-seam them (this is a sewing technique that takes a little longer than usual, but gives a beautiful clean finish), then iron them flat, and continue adding, sewing, and ironing, until I have connected enough small panels together, large enough to become a"new" fabric.
- I then lay my paper pattern pieces on the “new” fabric, and cut out the garment. Only then do I sew the final piece!

There are a few things I adore about making clothes like this:
1. Each item is one of a kind, and there will only ever be one in the world. If you wear one of these items, you can be sure you’ll look (and hopefully feel) completely and utterly unique!
2. These garments are eco friendly and sustainable- they are made from remnants that are too small for full garments, and would normally be thrown away (not in my studio!!).
3. The process is incredibly exciting! The way the prints join together can never be planned in advance, it only happens through the making process. It makes every stage of the patchwork utterly thrilling to create!

Individually handmade from start to finish in my studio. Sewn to the highest quality with special attention to every small detail.

* 100% cotton, African wax print fabrics, and skirt from a soft cotton.
* French seam finish and cotton bound seams inside.
* Elasticated waist.
* Pulls over the head and closes at the back with a small button.
* Bust darts and back darts for a flattering fit.

* Machine washable, fabrics are pre-washed to avoid shrinkage.
